Alice Terry Elementary School

Alice Terry Elementary School is one of two elementary schools in the Sheridan School District #2. It serves students in grades kindergarten through second. Approximately 350 students are enrolled in these grades. Class sizes vary from 15-28 students. Our school was built in 1958 and named Alice B. Terry in recognition of many years of love and devotion given by Mrs. Terry to the education of children in this area. Following her retirement, she returned to our district many times and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She passed away in 1976. It is hoped that we at Alice Terry School measure up to the high principles of our school’s honored namesake.
Alice Terry Elementary is a school community that is committed to challenging children to reach the highest potential as an academic learner, to learn and grow socially through positive peer and adult interactions, and build a solid foundation to move forward in the educational journey. At Alice Terry, the entire staff strives to provide excellent learning opportunities for all students in a safe, enjoyable environment. We have a strong emphasis on literacy (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) and mathematics. We focus on positive citizenship skills in an effort to empower your children to make wise choices socially.
There is a strong tradition in our school of parents and school staff working together to enhance learning opportunities for all children. Volunteers are always welcome!
